The Basic was the former Models & Surf plastic thruster set listed for the Future single-tab system. The retained URL contains the historic G5 handle; this page identifies the model using its original catalogue details and photographs.
Setup and fin system
The set comprised three fins: left, right and centre, arranged as a thruster. Its specification table described the system as Future-compatible. This is a compatibility description from the former Models & Surf listing, not a claim that the set was manufactured by Futures.
It is a different item from our former FCS-compatible double-tab plastic set. Matching the number of fins does not make those base systems interchangeable. Our FCS and Futures comparison explains the distinction.
Materials and size options
The specification table listed plastic, while the description used the term plastic nylon. The original options were small, medium and large, in black.
The recovered source does not supply individual fin depth, base length, area or rider-weight ranges for those options. This reference therefore preserves the named options without assigning measurements that were not documented.
Comparing plastic fins
